Wednesday Word for November 24th

My…how the years have gone by so fast…..It seems like yesterday that Tony and I were cuddling this beautiful little baby girl. I remember thinking how dependant she is on us to take care of all her needs and knowing that everything we do would be what she would come to know in her life. At first that thought was very scary, but then I thought – I want to be the best mom ever! In many ways along her life’s pathway, not everything was perfect, but with God in our lives, He got us through the years to this point and now comes the hardest part of life….letting her leave the nest. Our daughter, Christina, will be getting married this Saturday to a young man name Lance. Tony and I are so blessed to know that she has found a good man that we feel will take care of her the rest of the way. It is a very sad time but then again a very happy time of our lives. After all, God gives us children to raise with His helping hand so that they may one day have their own children to do the same. We are the fruit of the trees in God’s eyes and the fruit continues to grow and spread out. Please keep us in your prayers for the upcoming events this weekend and especially for Christina and Lance in their new life together as one.

Hello WBFJ Family! What a blessing to share this weeks Wednesday Word with YOU! Over the last month, my family and I have celebrated many special dates regarding the 3 year anniversary of my daughter Lexa's adoption from Kazakhstan. As I reflect on the photos, videos and memories, it's hard to believe so much time has passed since those incredible days.
I clearly remember the awesome Joy of carrying her out of the orphanage doors, knowing that she would never be back again. I remember the feeling of relief as the plane took off from the Almaty airport. Most of all I recall landing at the Greensboro airport and the absolute euphoria as I carried her in my arms towards my awaiting family and friends. Lexa's time as an orphan had a happy ending. Unfortunately, right now, there are millions of children all over the world who are waiting to be held in the arms of a loving parent.
That's why I want to remind you that "Orphan Sunday" is Nov. 8th. If you would like to find out more or if your church would like to get involved, just go to www.christian-alliance-for-orphans.org or www.orphansunday.org.
As Christians, we are called to care for orphans in their distress. Please take the time to check out these websites. I know that God will use you to make a difference in the lives of these precious children.
